Spencelooker is delighted to be working with a UK market leader, owned by a FTSE 100 Plc, on the appointment of a Property Manager to join their Manchester-based team (hybrid working), reporting directly to the Group Estates Surveyor.
Our client supports independent retailers and small businesses nationwide, operating 190+ large-format sites alongside a network of distribution centres and logistics locations across the UK. This is a client-side opportunity within a significant national estate, offering genuinely varied and high-profile work.
You’ll be involved in the management of a substantial UK-wide property portfolio, covering lease events, landlord & tenant matters, acquisitions and disposals, and wider strategic estate initiatives — all with real autonomy and visibility.
The Role
- Manage a convenience retail sublet portfolio, liaising with landlords and tenants
- Oversee income streams across the wider estate, including third-party agreements
- Coordinate car park operations and ANPR systems across multiple sites
- Maintain and develop the central property database and reporting processes
- Support finance-related property queries including rents, rates and reconciliations
- Instruct and manage external agents, contractors and legal advisors
- Assist with the disposal of vacant units and asset management initiatives
- Work closely with senior surveyors to support wider estate strategy and activity
About You
- MRICS qualified (or working towards) with around 5 years’ relevant surveying experience
- Experience within a property, estates or asset management environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload
- Confident communicator with proven stakeholder management experience
- Proactive and detail-oriented, with a hands-on approach to problem solving
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team
- Willingness to travel as part of a national portfolio role
